Offset in two directions at once. Enter the set (vertical) and roll (horizontal) plus your fitting angle — get the true offset, travel, and run.
A rolling offset moves the pipe in two directions at once — up/down (set) and sideways (roll). Picture a box: the pipe enters one corner and exits the diagonally opposite corner.
True offset = √(Set² + Roll²) — the straight-line diagonal across the face of the box.
Travel = True offset ÷ sin(Angle) — the length of the rolled piece, center to center.
Run = True offset ÷ tan(Angle) — the distance the offset eats up along the run of the pipe.
The math is the same as a simple offset — you just replace "set" with the true offset. For 45° fittings: travel = true offset × 1.414.
Travel is center to center — subtract both fitting takeouts for the cut length. Use our takeout calculator.
